The Danced Museum proposes a show about the MNAC collection from the perspective and sensibility of the students of the Conservatori Professional de Dansa (CPD) of the Institut del Teatre. We invite you to discover their creations, which will be presented on 7^th April, 27^th April and 15^th June in the museum's Sala Oval.

The Danced Museum is an educational project born from the collaboration between two neighbouring institutions, the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya and the Conservatori Professional de Dansa (CPD) of the Institut del Teatre. During the 2023-24 academic year, the museum makes its Modern Art collection available to CPD students so that they can choose, imagine and interpret the works of art through their bodies. 

This process takes place within the CPD's Free Workshops programme, a space for practice and creative autonomy where students search for their own expressive language. From observation sessions on the museum's works of art, the 5th and 6th grade students of the three dance specialties (contemporary, classical and Spanish) accepted the challenge of creating choreographies in solos, duets or groups, freely based on a work from the collection: the theme, the emotion, the colour palette, an unexpected detail, the composition or a figure can be the reason for the inspiration of their creations.

This project aims to strengthen the role of the MNAC as a benchmark museum in the work with the educational communities of Catalonia and the role of the CPD as a benchmark centre for teaching the performing arts at state and European level.
