Painter and sculptor Pere Llobera (Barcelona, 1970) accepted our idea of dialoguing with the Museum and he does so with a good stockpile of his own works, works by other artists and from our collection that revolve around the idea of failure. The art created outside official history, forgotten artists, careers cut short and the failures that he calls ‘small, medium and high intensity’ are present in each object in this installation. The artists of the Catalan counterculture and childhood friends find a place at the Museum here and now. These stories are often seeped and permeated with nocturnality and alcohol, a fact to which the title alludes. It is excerpted from the novel Private Life by Josep Maria de Sagarra.

Pere Llobera admires Munch, Goya and Brueghel (the old), amongst many others. He is passionate about bizarreness, extraordinary and the counterculture of the 60's, 70's and beginning of 80's, and people who behave like a "free verse". The artist claims he walks around Barcelona like a ghost that only dialogues with what's not there anymore. And believes that, sometimes, the minor art offers more dialogue possibilities than the "big art". For him, his work is a stockroom full of conflicts he wants to clean up, so he can be happy.

The artist would especially like to thank: Lluis Alabern, Max Andrews, David Armengol, Jordi Casanovas, Rosa Cortiella, Julieta Dentone, Sandra Figueras, Manel Gili, Sergi Ibañez and Roberto Ruiz.
