Ollas Comunes is a journey like they were before, when they were planned without using Lonely Planet or the globaltravelguidedotcom. A journey where you spent months, maybe years, reading about everything you would  find in your future destination while constantly questioning those who had already been there. Because you knew that once you were there, you would forget everything you had learned and let yourself go.

This journey to Puelmapu, ancestral territory of the Mapuche people, includes the reconstruction of a landscape that you have never visited, a visit to a national museum without any walls located in the middle of a forest of monkey puzzle trees, the re-writing of the story of a people who said it never existed and food created all together to be shared in a community of people who don’t yet know each other.

By the way, don’t forget to bring something to put into the pot. It doesn’t matter what it is: pasta, rice, vegetables, meat. The quantity doesn’t matter: a handful, four kilos, half a litre. We will provide the dishes, cutlery and heat.
