Propaganda and civil war
The aim of propaganda is to convince people. For this reason, the information conveyed is usually presented in an emotionally charged way and often appeals to emotional arguments rather than rational ones.
War and propaganda are closely linked. To a greater or lesser extent, propaganda has been present in all war conflicts and has been decisive. The beginning of the Spanish Civil War involved an extraordinary deployment of the propaganda apparatus of both sides, which still resonates today given the ideological nature of the conflict.
You can visit this exhibition at the Joaquim Folch i Torres Library from 1 June to 26 November 2021.
