Description:

This item belongs to the decade in which Miró, having declared in 1927 that he wanted to 'murder painting', made an intensive exploration of the field of experimentation as a result of his rebellion against traditional painting techniques. This rebellion materialised, on one hand, in his commitment to the strategies of collage, both in three-dimensional constructions and in two-dimensional works, and, at the same time, in a commitment to the physical and concrete qualities of materials, in this case sandpaper.
