Christmas at the Museu Nacional 2022
This Christmas play and experiment with art!
On December 27, 28, 29 and 30, come to the National Museum with your family. In the Oval Room a circuit of activities for children from 3 to 12 years awaits you. With four morning and afternoon time slots to choose the one you prefer. (10 am, 11.30 am, 3 pm and 4.30 pm)
You can dive into in a sculpture of giant balls covered in crochet; is it a castle? A fantastic animal? You will also build new stories from picture books and become artists by reinterpreting works from the Museum. Come and find out!
Choose one of the illustrated books that we propose, the one that you like the most. Open it at random and let yourself be inspired by the page you are on. What new stories do you think of from its illustrations?
Illustrate the Museum's works based on words. One of you must describe in detail the picture in front of you and the other, who cannot see it, must draw what they hear. What masterpieces will come out of it?
At this stop you will find Chinese shadow theatres and Kamishibai, typical Japanese theatres. With them you can tell tales, stories and legends, or listen to them! What do you prefer?
Playscapes is an Art Croche installation created by the Belgian artist Cathy Bertel from giant balls covered with crochet. Is it a castle? A fantastic animal? Dive into this crazy landscape and find out!
The entrance costs €6, both for adults and children. Kids under 3 years old have free admission.
If you want, you can also visit the collections, go up to the Rooftop Viewpoint with spectacular views over Barcelona and get discounts at the Museum's cafe and shop, 10% on products and 5% on books.
