The Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya hosted the past 28, 29 and 30 November the celebration of the XVI National Congress of Numismatics. The main theme of the congress revolved around Treasures and monetary findings: protection, study and musealization. The Congress gathered around the Numismatic Cabinet of Catalonia to almost 125 participants from universities, museums and the numismatic and medal associations of the whole State, which is considered the main scientific forum of the discipline.

The attendees enjoyed a good reception both in the museum and in the neighbouring Museu d'Arqueologia de Catalunya. Both institutions prepared complementary activities in the form of showcases and special itineraries and, in addition, offered the congressional representatives receptions. In the museum, we highlighted a concert offered by the ESMUC and, as an anecdote; the monetary biscuits expressly prepared by the Museu de la Xocolata were very successful.
