Loop Festival 2021

Loop Festival 2021

Date range:
03/11/2021

From 9 to 21 November 2021, the museum will once again take part in the LOOP Festival, with two interventions:

  • an intervention by the artist Francesca Llopis (Barcelona, 1956) consisting of a video with music by Barbara Held and percussion by Pilar Subirà and a set of photographs taken by the artist at the Casa Gomis-Bertrand, known as La Ricarda, located in El Prat de Llobregat. The work Inside In can be seen in room 81b of modern art (this intervention will run until 17 February 2022). In the same room, we are exhibiting three recently acquired artworks that will form part of the new collection of post-war and second avant-garde art: two pieces by Moisès Villèlia and one by Magda Bolumar, corresponding to the period in which both artists created, in close collaboration with Antoni Bonet (the Casa Gomis-Bertrand architect), the decoration of La Ricarda.
  • an intervention by the artist Randa Maroufi (Casablanca, 1987) with the piece Barbès. The artwork will be on display in the museum's former bookshop. Barbès which is part of the series Les Intruses [The Intruders], Barbès is a video that questions the decentring of archetypal representations that we produce around culture. A group of young women – «the intruders» – occupies the public space for the time of the mise en scène. They take on the same gestures, the same postures, as those of the men in such places: they play cards or watch a football match without minding the passage of time. They occupy terraces and expose themselves in the strangeness of a public space of exclusion – that of gender. In collaboration with FRAC Bretagne.
