Description:

What do the images say when we are predisposed that they speak to us? What power to evoke memories and sensations do we give them? What can we do with this urge to say something?

During three sessions we will approach the work of Mey Rahola through photo-provocations. We will start from the dynamics of critical pedagogies, such as the methodology coming from ethnography "Photo Elicitation", from the concepts of encounter and dialogic space. We will make her photographs ours (of our bodies and our subjectivity) through feminist interventions in art

These sessions have been conceived to be independent, so you can do all three or participate in just one in particular.

SESSION I. (Auto)Fictions

In the first session we will start from different participatory dynamics around the concepts of biography, photographic archive and the links between images and bodies, while focusing the reflection on our own body.

SESSION II. Obfuscations

In this session we will work with the often obscured aspects of images: the off-field and the social, technological and material implications of the photographic and exhibition device. We will use collage as a creative exercise to work on the multiple layers that make up the images, those not always visible at first glance.

The work methodology in these first two sessions focuses on creative practice. Through exercises we will open a space of dialogue between the images of Mey Rahola and the imagery of the participants. With the results of these sessions, a collective publication will be made.

SESSION III. Conversation-Action

The last session will feature the participation of ULLAL as a guest group and FUGA, with Ona Bros and Noelia Pérez. There will be a conversation about the critical possibilities of the work based on the photographs. The publication carried out in the first two sessions will be presented and it will be activated.

Workshops created and led by: Fuga (Ona Bros, photographer, visual artist and researcher and Noelia Pérez, historian, anthropologist and visual artist).
