Description:

European Literature and Heritage Series. Itinerary of Medieval Art and Literature

The Bachelor of Arts of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya organizes a new edition of this series in collaboration with the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, the Museu d’Arqueologia de Catalunya and the Museu Episcopal de Vic. These free guided visits aim to approach cultural and historical heritage through European mediaeval stories.

The artworks of the Museu Nacional present a common style and set of ideas which evoke mediaeval literature from all Western Europe. The guided visit focuses on the meeting points between art and literature in the Romanesque period and, specifically, on the relation between the big ensembles of mural painting that are preserved in the museum and the literature of that time.
