Once more, this year the Cycle For the Love of the Arts comes back every Tuesday at 5 pm, from October 3 to June 26. All the screenings will be at the Filmoteca de Catalunya.

The museum collaborates with the screenings of:

• Tuesday October 3: Powidoki (2016) by Adrzej Wajda: the story of the charismatic painter Wladyslaw Strzeminski, and his oposition to the social realism and how he kept his artistic freedom in spite of the political obstacles.
• Tuesday February 6: Desperate romantics (2009) by Paul Gay and Diarmuid Lawrence: the Arts and Crafts by William Morris claimed crafts in front of industrialization. The Bauhaus made amends with the serial production, but Morris did not agree.
• Tuesday May 15: Der amerikanische Freud (1977) by Wim Wenders: Edward Hooper’s painting helps to understand the work of a filmmaker who was very influenced by the American iconography. His aesthetic turn Patricia Highsmith’s characters in hawks of the night.    
• Tuesday June 26: Paula (2016) by Christian Schwochow: the first woman painter, expressionism forerunner, who has a museum dedicated to her work. A fascinating film not only for her biography but also for her work.
