A year of acquisitions, donations, and recoveries. Catalogue which shows the policy of purchases followed by the Trustees of the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya in the year 1992, directed toward filling the voids in the museum's collection. In addition, mention is made of the considerable number of donations, private contributions, which have always been important in the history of the shaping of the museum's collections, as have been the deposits made by public institutions. The pages of this book help us learn that a museum's role goes beyond that of presenting a series of permanent collections to the public, to also include that of serving as a refuge from rainy weather for an often very scattered patrimony which nonetheless must be included in the construction of a complete history of Catalan art. Each of the catalogued pieces has an accompanying study by specialists in the field who present it to the public.
