Toulouse-Lautrec and the origins of the modern poster.

2006 - Ephrem
Description:

The exhibition brings together all the posters by Toulouse-Lautrec in the Museum of Ixelles, in Brussels, along with the painting May Belfort, in the MNAC. It is a reflection on the poster-painting activity of this artist, who put his talent at the service of the performing arts, painting portraits of figures who were part of this dissipated, dissolute world, which broke down the barriers of the values and the bourgeois social conventions of fin de siècle Paris.
