Sant Jordi 2013
Sant Jordi 2013
In the museum you can find a huge amount of works of art with the image of the saint and the dragon. Today we present you this pendant by Lluís Masriera. What's more, this work has been selected for the project 'Partage Plus-Digitising and Enabling Art Nouveau for Europeana'.
Saint George leaves for Saint George’s Day
The picture usually to be found in the Gothic Art Collection, ‘Saint George Slaying the Dragon’, is leaving for the Palau de la Generalitat for Saint George’s Day. It’ll be back at the museum on 25 April.
Bookcrossing 2013 at the Library
On 23 June, for the fifth consecutive year, the Museum Library is joining the bookcrossing event to mark International Book Day.
Different institutions and museums release books all over Spain, so that whoever picks them up can enjoy them before releasing them again somewhere else in the world. The Museum Library will be contributing with the release of ten books on artistic subjects at different points around the Palau Nacional.
Sale of books and roses for solidarity
On Saint George’s Day the museum shop will be offering you the latest publishing novelties and other books on art, Barcelona and Catalonia, in the shop inside as well as the one on the terrace, with a special discount.
What’s more, in collaboration with Amics de la Gent Gran (Friends of Old People) Roses Against Oblivion will also be on sale. These felt roses are made in the women’s reintegration centres of the Fundació Ared. When you buy one, you’re helping to fund the charitable work of Amics de la Gent Gran.
