A mural by BTOY and the pupils of IES Lluís Domènech i Montaner at the museum
Together with the pupils of the Institut Lluís Domènech i Montaner secondary school, the well-known street artist BTOY has created two murals as part of the seventh edition of the Creators in Residence programme. Both murals, one at the museum and the other at the school, have been devised and done jointly. The creator and the pupils have first prepared the background with geometric shapes, and then they have made the templates of their outlines, before finally transferring them onto the walls of the museum and the school.
The student-artists are Maria Amor, Nerea Barnés, Jean Pierre Benítez, Carla Bueno, Paula Bueno, Mireia Crespillo, Marta Fernández, Mahí García, Anna Herrera, Alba Hurtado, Oscar Hurtado, Patrizha Maquimot, Gemma Ortega, Xavier Rodríguez and Andrea Sánchez, and the teachers Irene Nieto, Enric Llobet and Toni Escrig.
Creators IN RESIDENCE is a programme of the Barcelona Institute of Culture and the Education Consortium of Barcelona. BTOY’s residency at the Institut Domènech i Montaner secondary school has been curated and coordinated by the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya.
