Description:

Talk given by Jordi Camps i Soria, Head of the Medieval Area of the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, within the cycle of talks Medieval memory in the museums of Barcelona (consult the full programme of talks in the attached pdf).

He will talk about the notable moments of Romanesque Barcelona, reflected through a series of works from the last quarter of the 12th century and the first decades of the 13th century, such as the door of the cloister of the cathedral or part of the monastery of Sant Pau del Camp. But other examples have disappeared, even though relevant remains are conserved (some conserved in the Museu Nacional), such as for example the cloister of Sant Pere de les Puel·les or the hospital of Sant Nicolau. Overall, they allow us to recuperate a constructive and artistic panorama that goes beyond the city itself and situates it fully in the international context.

You can follow the talks via Twitter with the hashtag #memoriamedieval
