Magic Line Barcelona 2017: 889 teams, 12.609 people enrolled and €311.462 collected

A group composed by 11 workers of the museum and their families, under the name of El Museu Nacional camina (The Museu Nacional walks), took part in the Magic Line Barcelona 2017 for second consecutive year the past March 5th. It’s a solidary motivation organized by the Hospital San Joan de Déu, to raised money to help those people that are in a vulnerable position. The main event of this initiative is a non-competitive walk in teams to do 40, 30, 20, 15 or 10 km. The walk of 40 km starts at Nou Barris, go across Collserola (where the first participants of the itinerary of 30 km will join in and, later on, the ones from the 20 km one), pass through the Hospital de Sant Joan de Déu (15 km), goes through Montjuïc (10 km) and they all end in the Cathedral square, where there’ll be a solidary concert.

The museum team participated in the itinerary of 20 km and collected 303 euros, thanks to the raffle of two jams and a Christmas basket. The Museu Nacional also collaborates with this solidary initiative by giving support to the other teams and offering their installations to those who needed during the day of the walk and also giving a free pass to the museum during a month to all the participants that show their “passaturons” (their pass).
