The director of the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, Pepe Serra, has been invited to participate in the second global Conference of directors of museums, organized by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which will take place between the 13th and 23rd April in New York.

This meeting, which itself is accessed by invitation, brings together 15 directors of museums around the world. It include directors of national, municipal, private, and academic museums, many immersed in processes of renovation and in important strategic changes.

The Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya and the Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology in Oxford are the only European museums that participate in these days.

For 10 days, the directors of the different centers feature case studies. The director of the Museu Nacional explains the renewal of the collection of modern art and speaks also of the renovation project of the Renaissance and Baroque art collection, in which the Museum is currently working.

The aim of these intense days of work, which addressed all aspects of museum management, is confronting models and get a broad vision about the practices and challenges common to museums in the world.
