Selected articles bound in two volumes that pay homage to Dr. Joan Ainaud de Lasarte, former director of the Museus de Barcelona. The set of articles embraces a broad spectrum of authors, ranging from local authors of monographs to research papers at the international level, and addresses a wide variety of themes and contents, including numismatics, historiography, restoration, archaeology and art history. Chronologically speaking, it starts out with the prehistoric era and ends in the 20th century. The first volume boasts a biography of Joan Ainaud, a bibliography of his writings, letters that speak of memories or personal experiences in the company of Joan Ainaud, and essays ordered chronologically, moving up from prehistoric and ancient times to the medieval era; the second volume contains those oriented to the 16th century, on up through to the 20th. Each article is accompanied by summaries in Spanish, Catalan, and English (excepting the language in which it is written.)
