Next Sunday May 17th the MNAC celebrates the International Museums Day. We propose you free entry to the whole Museum from 10 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.

This is a special occasion to visit the permanent collection through a journey from Romanesque art to Modernisme and the avant-garde and to discover the new section of the Catalan 1930s avant-garde and the new Cubist paintings by Picasso.

Moreover, following the initiative launched from the Culture Department from the Generalitat de Catalunya, the MNAC has chosen his Museum's Gem: this year is The Martyrdom of Saint Bartholomew, by José de Ribera, known as 'Lo Spagnoletto'. This painting has recently changed his location in the permanent collection exhibition rooms.
