Enamel

Glass powder, composed of a mixture of lead, borax and oxides and various metallic compounds that provide the transparent colour and can be made opaque, applied to the surface of an object, usually of metal, and cast in the oven. The main application techniques are cloisonné, champlevé, grisaille and painted enamel.
