Romanesque Art and the Mediterranean: Catalonia, Toulouse and Pisa (1120-1180)

Published to accompany the exhibition of the same name, it sets out, through the contributions of the major specialists on the period, to place twelfth-century Catalan art in context with contemporary artistic centres in the Western Mediterranean, like Toulouse and Pisa. The publication deals principally with three main questions, both in the studies and the catalogue raisonné, in order to offer a new view of Romanesque art: the dialogue with Antiquity, the process of creating monumental sculpture and the function of the spaces and the images.
