Was one of the eleven bastions of the wall that protected Barcelona in the XVII century: the bastion of Migdia, of Llevant, of Santa Clara, of Portal Nou, of Jonqueres, of Sant Pere, of Àngel, of Tallers, of Sant Antoni, of Santa Madrona and of Sant Francesc. The collapse of the wall was from 1854 until 1873.
