Description:

This is the first known self-portrait by Lluïsa Vidal (1876-1918) and it could almost be said that it is the earliest self-portrait by a female Catalan Modernista painter to have survived. The artist, still very young, just 23 years old, makes her self-portrait a declaration of intent, beyond the act of painting.
