Ibiza's boy
Maspons joined the Agrupació Fotogràfica de Catalunya in 1951. In 1955 he moved to Paris, where he frequented photographic circles. On his return to Barcelona, he turned professional and formed a partnership with Julio Ubiña. He devoted himself to reportage, portraiture, fashion and advertising. He worked for 'La Gaceta ilustrada', 'Oeil', 'Paris-Match', 'Boccaccio', 'Expression', 'Elle', etc. He published a large number of books, amongst which the most outstanding were the ones published by Lumen in its collection 'Palabra e Imagen': 'Toreo de salón', with Julio Ubiña and with text by Camilo José Cela; 'La caza de la perdiz roja', with text by Miguel Delibes, and 'Poeta en Nueva York', on poems by Lorca.
