Description:

Pere Mañach, Picasso’s first dealer, ordered much of the furniture for his private home from Jujol, including the furniture for the dining-room, the bedroom and the music room. The most significant item in this set is this desk for filing music scores. Signed and decorated with abundant polychrome, it has the outline of the church of Vistabella on the central door and shows a high degree of originality and fantasy in line with the striking decoration of the same Mañach’s shop selling locks, keys and safes.

This work has been selected for the project 'Partage Plus – Digitising and Enabling Art Nouveau for Europeana'
