In the month of December, Amèlia Riera passed away, born in Barcelona in 1934. From 1962 onwards she started to exhibit with the “Ciclo de Arte de Hoy” (Cycles of Today’s Art), of which she was the founding member, and took part in all its exhibitions.  Her first individual exhibition took place in the Sala Belarte of Barcelona in 1963.

In 2015, she was distinguished with the National Award for Culture of the Generalitat and one year later she was appointed academic of honour of the Catalan Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Saint George.

From 13^th January to 24^th February a selection of documents about the artist will be exhibited in the foyer of the Joaquim Folch i Torres Library.
