Using the works in the Museum’s Modern Art collection rooms dedicated to the Spanish Civil War as a starting point, we will reflect on ideas of commitment, justice, and peace, and discuss the different stances that artists took during the war—ranging from those who fought on the front lines, to those who engaged in propaganda through posters, or those who chose escape and evasion.
