Description:

The Numismatic Cabinet of Catalonia is organizing this course with the aim of introducing the non-specialist public to the knowledge of coinage in circulation in the Iberian Peninsula in Antiquity. In this seventh edition, the course is structured into four in-person sessions that alternate theoretical content with hands-on practice in coin documentation. In the first session, the fundamental characteristics of coinage and numismatic working methodology will be explained. In the remaining three sessions, the main peninsular coin series — Greek, Semitic, Iberian and Roman — will be presented in an eminently practical way, as well as how to identify and document them.

Chief Curator of the Numismatic Cabinet of Catalonia
