Stones that Sing. Music and Liturgy for Sant Pere de Rodes
Stones that Sing. Music and Liturgy for Sant Pere de Rodes
Saturday 27 June, at 10:30 a.m.
Place:
Temporary Exhibition Room 1
Description:
A concert at the MNAC by Juan Carlos Asensio Palacios and students and alumni of ESMUC.
What did Sant Pere de Rodes sound like? In the Romanesque world, image and music were part of the same experience: the contemplation of artworks unfolded within a soundscape that marked liturgical time and brought sacred words to life.
Based on a repertoire curated by Juan Carlos Asensio, professor at ESMUC, this activity proposes a dialogue between Sant Pere de Rodes and the musical and iconographic repertoire that may have resonated there.
