Description:

Jodorowsky's Dune (Frank Pavich, 2013). It had as collaborators: H.R. Giger, Moebius, David Carradine, Salvador Dalí, Orson Welles, Mick Jagger or Dan O'Bannon. The film was nominated for an Oscar for the Best Documentary in 2014.

he screening is the part of the fourth edition of the cycle For the Love of Art. Cinema and Painting that tackles the connection between cinematography and other arts. In the current edition we put an emphasis on the role of the museum as a cultural institution, the mechanisms it uses to create sense and value, the political dimensions of the characters and artworks. The Surrealism, that was evoked tangentially the other years, plays the protagonist role now.

Presentation by Jordi Carbonell, professor of Art History at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili
