Description:

We invite you to discover The Reverse Journey. A Sound Fresco through Romanesque Art, the intervention by Ona Balló which, from November onwards, will offer a new way of approaching the MNAC’s collection of Romanesque mural paintings.

For centuries, these paintings were part of the churches for which they had been created and coexisted with an environment filled with sounds, light and rhythms characteristic of life in the Pyrenees. When they were transferred to the Museum, they retained their extraordinary artistic value but lost an essential part of their original context. Through a sound journey recorded in various churches in the Pyrenees, the artist recovers this intangible dimension and invites us to rediscover the paintings from a sensory perspective, evoking the atmosphere for which they were conceived.

At the end of the tour, we will have the opportunity to exchange impressions with the artist and learn first-hand about the research and creative process behind this project.
