From Republican rescue to Francoist control: ‘Recovered from the enemy’.

On the occasion of the inauguration of the exhibition “Recovered from the Enemy”, the Francoist deposits at MNAC, along with their curators, Gemma Domènech and Eduard Caballé, director and researcher at the Catalan Institute for Cultural Heritage Research (ICRPC), will give a lecture exploring the origins and context of the exhibition, as well as the works on display.

Following the lecture, there will be a brief dramatized reading with music from Cantata on the Tomb of Federico García Lorca, composed by Jaume Pahissa (Barcelona, 1880 – Buenos Aires, 1969), who went into exile in Argentina after the Spanish Civil War. Premiered in Buenos Aires in 1937 by the company of Margarida Xirgu, no further performances are known. This presentation is by the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC).
