This course offers a broad overview of the relationships between the Humanities and Health, with a triple goal:
1- The study of the cultural and social view on health, based on philosophical, literary and artistic productions that over the centuries and today have created discourses on the body, health, illness and death, and the ethical principles that regulate the exercise of health professions (Medical Humanities).
2- The evidence ratified by the World Health Organisation (WHO), that the Arts and Humanities can improve the health and well-being of citizens, both preventively and by acting on groups of people with specific ailments.
3- The practical knowledge of tools and resources to think, design, implement and evaluate Arts in Health programmes, aimed at specific health objectives oriented towards professional practice.
This postgraduate course is aimed at professionals in the health, cultural and social fields; graduates in health sciences and humanities disciplines; cultural, health and third sector managers; artists, creators and professionals in the arts, and, in general, anyone interested in taking an in-depth look at the relationships between the Humanities and Health.
The programme lasts for 6 months: it starts in November 2023 and ends in May 2024.
