Description:

Duchamp, Mary Reynolds and Man Ray took an initiatory trip to Cap de Creus with Dalí in 1933, soaking in the sun and serenity of Empordà. We can follow the traces of this initiation over the years in a series of photographs that Joan Casellas, researcher and artist, interprets from the action-talk, a hybrid genre invented by Dalí. Staring hypnotically is the key.

In the Rrose Sélavy performance-talk in the underwater Pyrenees, Casellas will discuss the seven key elements of his research and raise questions such as why was Duchamp's 1933 trip to Cadaqués and Cap de Creus initiatory, hand in hand with Dalí? What is the Man Ray enigma? What is the mustachioed Gioconda of the Pyrenees? or What linked Marcel Duchamp to Romanesque art?

The research of Joan Casellas obtained the grant for research and innovation in the field of visual arts from the Generalitat de Catalunya in 2021.
