On May the 20th we will celebrate the museums at night in Barcelona. A magical night with open doors to the public for the whole museum and we invite visitors to come look at the works in a different light.
This year, the proposal is dedicated to the refugees and our visitors will enjoy the museum’s collections with commentaries about the works thought the night that will be connected with a theme: a look at other cultures.
You’ll be able to visit the temporary exhibitions Uprisings and Torné Esquius. Poetics of the Everyday, take a look at the projects Exploring gold, where we investigate the gold in the paintings of the museum, and From vignette to vignette, an itinerary in comic book code by Modern Art, or visit the temporary video-installations at the Modern Art rooms that the Loop Festival has provided from the hand of three different artists.
During this night we’ll also offer a concert by Saphie Wells & SwingCats & Swing Maniacs, from Taller de Música (3 passes in the Sala Oval: at 9 p.m., 10 p.m. and 11 p.m.), with Saphie Wells (voice), Joan Subirats (saxophone), Marc Masagué (guitar) and Alejandro “Wassylli” Granados (double bass).
If you fancy you can go to a Swing class by the Swing Maniacs school (from 9.30 p.m. to 10 p.m., in the Sala Oval).
