“The Invisible Museum”

We are launching a new series of visits to discover the Museum’s unique spaces and learn more about the work of the professionals who are responsible for the conservation, study and management of the collections. We will begin the tour with the Numismatic Cabinet of Catalonia and the Cabinet of Drawings and Prints.

Did you know that the Museum houses the most important collection of works on paper in Catalonia?

On this visit, led by Adela Laborda and Mercè Saura, curators at the Museum, you will discover the Cabinet of Drawings and Prints’ storage facility and why drawings have little visibility.

This visit will allow you to delve into the knowledge of a unique collection comprising more than 150,000 works, including some of the most iconic productions by major names in the history of Catalan art.

Before your eyes, you will see some of the drawings created, among others, by Fortuny, Tapiró, Casas, Nonell, Dalí and Miró, as well as posters and prints, which are nevertheless very well represented in the cabinet’s collections.
