On May 18, the International Museum Day, open doors to the public for the whole museum from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
This year is dedicated to the theme Museums and contested histories: saying the unspeakable in museums, its objective is to speak about our role as pacemakers for the relationships between people and how we can help to face the painful and traumatic facts of history.
Explore the temporal exhibitions Uprisings and Torné Esquius. Poetics of the Everyday, and the projects Exploring gold, where we investigate the gold in the paintings of the museum, and From vignette to vignette, an itinerary in comic book code, and also the temporary video-installations at the Modern Art rooms that the Loop Festival has provided from the hand of three different artists.
And at 6.30 p.m. come see for free the screening of the movie Das Grosse Museum, by Johannes Holzhausen, inside the cycle Per amor a les Arts, which explains what the day to day is like for a first class museum team.
We invite you, next Saturday, May 20, to Museums Night, a night of open doors with a lot of interesting and free activities.
