One of the current artists who best master the language of performance transforms the Sala Oval into a dance floor and recreates the well-known club frequented by the protagonists of A Clockwork Orange.
MOLOKO VELLOCET is a dystopian setting, an installation that wakes up and falls asleep, a buzzing club for an imperfect future inspired by the Korova Milk Bar in Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange (1971), a film based on Anthony Burgess' 1962 novel of the same name.
The MOLOKO VELLOCET installation is an elixir of substances that, in their dissolution, transform the MNAC's Sala Oval into a club that is activated intermittently with the performance The Death at The Club (in 45 min), a performance that, since 2018, has been held in various venues in Europe. It will be presented in three different and surprising formats: on the 11th, in an open museum, in solo format followed by a discussion; and on the 7th and 13th you will enjoy the experience in a closed museum with the spectacular group version of the show, performed by a team of dancers, male and female respectively.
MOLOKO VELLOCET explores the spectacularity of an allegorical club, the resistance of the body and the limits of dance with a large installation-performance that invites reflection on issues that concern the new and not so new generations: the alienation, free will, the loss of youth, violence, fear or the supposed protective screen offered by social networks. The music will be provided by three of the most important DJs in the current music scene and who have been part of the work's trajectory.
MOLOKO VELLOCET will be the debut at the Grec Festival in Barcelona by Candela Capitán, one of the best-known names on the European performance scene. She has presented her proposals, always transgressive, in spaces and artistic events as prominent as in the framework of documenta15 in Kassel, the CCCB in Barcelona or the Teatros del Canal in Madrid, among many others.
