Gaudí weekend
Gaudí weekend
12 and 13 February 2022, 10 am to 3 pm
Free activity with compulsory advance booking
In Gaudí’s architecture the parts are always intertwined, forming groups or families, and when you look at them you seem to be entering a story that takes you by the hand, from one end to the other, and doesn’t let you go. Some things turn into others and nothing has just one single function: a bench is not just a bench, but it has a backrest that is also a bench and which becomes a gargoyle that becomes a floor that becomes a column … A window has frames that are distorted and touch the mouldings that turn into tiles that swell up like a dragon … The different fragments follow a continuous thought in motion that binds them and connects them, and it seems that the drawings that try to trap these fragments ought also to have this condition of being transformed from one thing into another, an unfinished drawing to which something else can be always added and continue growing in unexpected directions.
The Cercle Artístic de Sant Lluc proposes spending two days constructing drawings from a building by Gaudí, knowing where to begin, but not where to end, through this line drawing workshop with graphite pencils of different hardnesses or coloured pencils.
Implements needed:
- Bring a hard base on which to work, standing or sitting, or laid on a surface that you find in the place of work.
- Bring blank sheets of paper and also tracing paper, minimum size dinA3, but preferably dinA2.
- Bring graphite pencils of different hardness or coloured pencils
