Description:

On Thursday 17 February 2022, the museum is offering a concert on the occasion of the Gaudí exhibition, in the style of the musical soirées that the Güell family used to organise every Monday in the central hall of their palace on Carrer Nou de la Rambla. Often compositions were played, written by the family musician, Josep Garcia Robles, and also by his daughters. It was an ideal space for poetry and chamber music. The concert programme establishes links between these intimate works by the Güell and the repertoire of two contemporary composers, one Catalan, the other Viennese, reviving the repertoire that could be heard in the family home of the industrialist, politician and patron of the arts, Eusebi Güell. The Palau Güell was one of the important commissions Gaudí received at the beginning of his career.

The concert will be performed by the Quartet Vivancos from the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC), made up of Estela Mejias, Anna Sanchís, Jordi Prim and Quim Tejedor.
