Description:

On February 27, 2022, the flames destroyed the Ivankiv Local History Museum in the context of the Ukrainian war. The museum’s collection included 16 works by the artist Maria Primachenko (1909-1997), some of which are believed to have been saved by a local resident.

In early March, at the start of the war, two Ukrainian artists knocked on the door of the Museu Nacional. They were looking for a place to express themselves, a space to be the temporary headquarters of their symbolic office, a space to make the art of their country visible.

With them we have created the project VESNA (Spring). The curator Victoria Tissot and the artist and designer Mykola Kornilov open a window to the artists who have stayed in Ukraine, displaying the illustrations by Tetiana Yakunova, Daria Filippova, Zhenya Oliinyk, Oksana Drachkovska and Anna Sarvira, with a look at the destroyed or endangered heritage.

We invite you to this closing concert of the project: a celebration of Ukrainian culture through a repertoire of classical and traditional pieces by pianist Marina Naidyon, soprano Marina Chernoshtan and a children's choir led by Natasha Shepelenko.
