In this visit, given by Mariona Seguranyes, curator of the exhibition, we will approach the character of Joan Sacs, the alias used by Feliu Elias as a critic and art historian. His figure is pivotal as director of several magazines, art historian and critic who published in multiple journals.
Through his critiques we will take a journey through art in Catalonia at the beginning of the 20th century, where the debate between realism and the avant-garde emerged. Sacs, in addition to being a staunch defender of realism, was a connoisseur and populariser of impressionism, which he considered the solution to all realism(s). This talk that will allow us to share reflections together. The exhibition Feliu Elias. Reality as an obsession can be visited until 10th April 2023.
