From November 28 to 30, 2018, the XVI National Congress of Numismatics will be held in Barcelona, ​​organized by the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya and the Sociedad Iberoamericana de Estudios Numismáticos (SIAEN).

The main theme of the congress revolves around Treasures and monetary findings: protection, study and musealization, giving an account of the latest monetary findings, one of the pillars and reasons of a national congresses.

The aim is to obtain an up-to-date picture, as complete as possible, of both the treasures and the monetary findings from the complementary perspectives of its essential archaeological protection, its study in the broadest sense and, finally, its treatment, installation and dissemination in the museums. The congress will also have a free thematic session, to facilitate the participation and the meeting of the largest possible number of specialists and researchers in the largest numismatic forum in the state. The congress is open to the presentation of communications and will be structured in the following sessions:

• Treasures and monetary findings of antiquity
• Treasures and medieval monetary findings
• Treasures and modern monetary findings
