Description:

Santiago Rusiñol (1861-1931). Through the pages of this catalogue we have a chance to follow the artistic career of Santiago Rusiñol (1861-1931) from its beginnings to his gardens, which brought him such fame, on through intimate patios of Sitges. Emphasis is placed on one of the most significant stages developed by the artist in Paris, where he produced works of great quality. Even so, in all of Rusiñol's painting an indefinable sadness and profound sensation of solitude are present, reflections of his sentiments and introverted, melancholic character which he masked with appearances of frivolity, extroversion and joie de vivre. The book includes a careful chronology and an ample section of documentation including a complete bibliography.
