Ortiz Echagüe
Ortiz Echagüe

Ortiz Echagüe. Volume to accompany the photography exhibit put on by the MNAC, it examines the work of José Ortiz Echagüe, which is ensconced in an older world that fades away with the opening of the 20th century. The book begins with an article on the photographer's desire to capture reality, with a number of quotes from an interview with Ortiz made in 1962. After that, articles on the personal and artistic trajectories of Ortiz Echagüe, including references to his link with the 'Generation of '98'. Following these, the reader contemplates the photographs that were part of the exhibit; of particular note, leaving aside the castles and African landscapes, those that exalt the most ordinary things. The catalogue concludes with the technical data on the photos, a chronology of the artist's life and a careful bibliography.
