Description:
Through a selection of artworks, the tour offers a disruptive, non-formalist, and non-historicist reading. It explores concepts, themes, and iconographies associated with queer art, including: revisiting the experience of suffering and martyrdom through experiences linked to HIV/AIDS; examining how intersex people have identified with the iconography of angels; tracing when and why Saint Sebastian became a gay icon; and highlighting artworks and artists who have challenged conventional gender stereotypes.
