Description:

Organized in collaboration with the Centre Cívic El Sortidor and the Creu dels Molers Residential Inclusion Centre of Sant Joan de Déu Social Services, Rituals Comestibles is a series in which art and gastronomy come together to explore, through collective experience, the vital cycles we go through as human beings: mourning, regeneration, reproduction, and healing. These are a series of open workshops that bring art, cooking, and memory into dialogue.

In the workshop 'Community Pot II. Still life' we will discover that there are invisible worlds made up of bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms that ferment, transform, and sustain life, but also decompose and return matter to its origin. A still life is, in reality, a silent transformation from which other forms of life are born, just as fermenting or rotting food becomes a changing ecosystem. Based on the observation of Baroque still lifes, this workshop will take us on a journey into that microscopic landscape where the boundary between the living and the dead becomes blurred.

The activity will be led by the artistic collective DU-DA and Arantza Begueira.
