• Pere Llobera: Guided tour of the exhibition Zurbarán (Super)natural led by Pere Llobera, a visual artist who combines his figurative painting practice with curating exhibitions and other forms of artistic collaboration.

 

The tour will explore Pere Llobera’s fractal, bifocal, or dual vision of Zurbarán. According to Llobera’s reflection, “There is a pure Zurbarán and another one that surrenders to the economic survival strategies inherent to the lives of painters throughout history. One Zurbarán sublimates ‘in vanitas’ a rose in a silver vessel, and another works in series painting saints. One enjoys devoutly as he paints each fold of a habit, and another delves into religion as an extraction mine that will heal him from an unequal technical competition with his contemporary Velázquez.”
