Description:
As part of International Women's Day, there will be a conversation between photojournalist Anna Turbau and photography curator Roser Cambray. This event, held in the context of the recent addition of Anna Turbau's work to the National Photography Collection, will provide an opportunity to explore her visual universe up close. Various aspects of Turbau's career will be discussed, as she has captured key moments in contemporary history with a deep and committed perspective.

Anna Turbau (Barcelona, 1949) studied graphic design at the Massana and Elisava schools, and in the early 1970s, she decided to dedicate herself to photography as a form of personal and professional action. She collaborated as a photojournalist with various media outlets, becoming one of the most important reporters in documenting the Spanish Transition, particularly in Galicia, and producing social and anthropological reports of great documentary value.

Recently, the museum has added twenty-three photographs by the author to its collection, which reflect the strength and sensitivity of her photojournalistic practice and will be on display during the event. The selected images are representative of direct humanist documentary work, strongly connected to women, a practice that has defined Turbau's entire professional career, both in Catalonia and Galicia.
